DSAR Deadline Calculator

This tool is for UK GDPR / DPA 2018 subject access requests. It does not apply to EU GDPR requests.

Add the received date and (if applicable) the ID verified date. The tool adds one calendar month from the clock start, pauses for your intervals, and moves the due date to the next working day if it falls on a weekend or UK bank holiday.

The clock starts on the day of receipt (or the day ID is verified).
ICO: if you reasonably request ID, the time limit begins when you receive it.
Enable by selecting "ID verified" as the clock start.
ICO: a complex or numerous request may be extended by up to two months. Notify the requester within one month.
Stop-the-clock intervals
ICO (updated under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025): the clock pauses from the date you request clarification and resumes the day after the response is received. You no longer need to be processing a "large amount of information" — clarification just needs to be reasonably required to identify what the request relates to. Request clarification early and make the process straightforward for the requester. Example: clarification requested 20 Feb, response received 27 Feb → set "clock resumes" to 28 Feb (7 paused days); if the original deadline was 15 Mar, the new deadline becomes 22 Mar.
